Eligible households receive Central Financial Assistance (CFA) of ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 per kW for capacity between 2–3 kW, capped at ₹78,000 for systems of 3 kW and above. Applications are submitted on the national portal (pmsuryaghar.gov.in), with subsidy credited via Direct Benefit Transfer after DISCOM approval and installation by an empanelled vendor.

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) supports farmers across three components: decentralised grid-connected solar plants (500 kW–2 MW) on barren or cultivable land, standalone off-grid solar agriculture pumps up to 7.5 HP, and solarisation of existing grid-connected agricultural pumps including feeder-level projects. Central government subsidy of up to 30–50% of system cost is available depending on the component and state implementation.

Net metering lets rooftop solar owners export surplus generation to the electricity grid and offset units consumed at night or during low-sun hours. In Madhya Pradesh, MPERC regulations allow grid-interactive rooftop systems (typically up to sanctioned load, with provisions for systems up to 500 kW in many consumer categories). A bi-directional net meter records import and export; monthly net billing reduces your bill, and annual surplus may be settled as per applicable commission rules.
